Victoria Sampler October Needleroll

It’s finally assembled and ready to be sent off. I’m extremely pleased with this needleroll and sure hope that my friend will like it

I’m feeling a little better than the last time I posted on my blog. My throat is still itchy and I need to spray my nose every 8 hrs so I can breathe and I’m coughing like crazy, but I am feeling a little better

The kitty pi bed is done. It’s been through two cycles in the washing machine and all I need is the right shape to stretch it over. My trash bin is too small.. As soon as I’ve got the desired shape I’ll post a pic.

Finally a stitching update!

I’ve been hard at work trying to finish a Victoria Sampler birthday needleroll for a dear friend. She celebrated her birthday last thursday and today I finally put the final stitches into the needleroll. I have the actual finishing left to do but that shouldn’t take as long as the stitching.. I’m hoping

I hope Anna likes it and hope she won’t see it till it reaches her when I’m done. She’s not aware of this blog or so I believe. I’ve never heard her mention it so I guess she doesn’t read it

Seinasti pakkinn í afmælisleiknum

En fyrst mynd af Lofti að girnast gjafirnar mínar

Og þá er komið að mynd af þessum þvílíkt flotta pakka frá Lindu litluskvís. Ég á ekki til orð yfir gjafmildi hennar en hún ákvað að senda aðeins stærri pakka en vanalega af því gjafirnar komu seint til landsins. Hún hefði nú ekki þurft þess en það er auðvitað alltaf gaman að fá stóra pakka ;-D Þarna eru voða sæt munstur, annað frá Donnu Vermillion Giampa og hitt frá Sweetheart Tree, hör, annað er silfurgrátt og hitt er Solo frá Silkweaver, algjört æði. Svo er heill hellingur af handlituðu garni Stranded By The Sea, Six Strand Sweets og Needle Necessities garn. Eins og ég sagði við Lindu þá á ég eftir að hafa gaman af því að leika mér með þá

Enn og aftur kærar þakkir, Linda mín, fyrir þessar frábæru gjafir. Ég á sko eftir að njóta þeirra vel

And then it’s time for the awesome gifts from Linda litlaskvis. I don’t have words to describe the awesomeness of her gifts. She decided to send a little bigger package than usual coz the ones she ordered came too late for my birthday. She really didn’t have to but of course it’s always fun to get those big packages ;-D There are some cute patterns, one from Donnu Vermillion Giampa and another from The Sweetheart Tree, and linen, one is silver and the other is a Solo from Silkweaver, totally awesome! And last but not least a whole boatload of handdyed threads Stranded By The Sea, Six Strand Sweets og Needle Necessities threads. Like I told Linda in my thank you email, I’m going to have so much fun playing with those fibers

Again, thank you so much Linda for the present. I’m going to enjoy them for a long time

Ein gjöf í viðbót

Jamm, ég er sko lukkunnar pamfíll þessa dagana. Ég fékk einn pakka frá dömu úr afmælisleiknum í vikunni og hann var sko ekkert slor. Edda gaf mér Snowdays frá Mirabilia og Potpourri hearts frá Sweetheart Tree og silkigarn. Virkilega flott og ég er orðlaus. Hún fann þetta á óskalistanum mínum og ég sé að það er bara sniðugt að hafa svona óskalista til að leiðbeina fólki hvernig smekk maður hefur. Annars er voða auðvelt að gleðja mig

Ég hef ekki verið í miklu saumastuði né blogg stuði undanfarna daga en ég er á fullu að vinna í að klára frá mér drekann hennar Hafrúnar (bara afturstingur eftir) og svo fer maður í að byrja á Redwork exchange og Biscornu púða fyrir biscornu skiptin í Allt í Kross klúbbnum.

One more gift

I feel like the luckiest woman on the planet these days. I got another package in the birthday exchange on Allt í Kross and it was from Edda. She gave me Snow Days from Mirabilia and Potpourri Hearts from Sweetheart Tree plus some silks. Really generous and I’m speechless. She found my wishlist and those designs were on there. I see these wishlists are a good way to advise people for things like this, like to show what kinds of designs I like. But it’s not very hard to please me I’ve loved every single thing I’ve got in this birthday exchange.

I haven’t been in a big stitching mood lately and blogging hasn’t been high on the list to do either. I am now working on getting Hafrún’s RR to the next person on the list (I’m late, I know) and I only have the backstitching left and after that I have the redwork exchange to do on SBEBB and a Biscornu for an exchange on Allt í Kross. Busy busy busy!

Afmælið mitt var í gær og ég fékk sko fullt af glaðningum í póstinum Ég tek sem sagt þátt í afmælisleik í saumaklúbbnum Allt í Kross og við erum 8 sem erum í þessum hóp og þegar ein á afmæli sendum við hinar henni eitthvað skemmtilegt (vonandi) og í gær fékk ég sko heilan helling af skemmtilegum pökkum Ég ætla bara að setja inn myndir svo þið getið fengið að sjá.

Birthday

My birthday was yesterday and I got a boatload of packages in the mail I’m taking part in a birthday game in my online stitchign club Allt í Kross and we’re 8 in this group and when one of us has a birthday the others sends her a fun package. And boy did I get a lot of fun packages. I just took pics so you could see for yourselves

I’m so over the moon with all of these gorgous packages and it’s not bad to know more is on the way! It’s so much fun to have a birthday when you get so many gifts

And I’d like to thank for the birthday wishes, they mean a lot to me

Afmælisgjöf :-)

Um áramótin skráði ég mig í afmælisleik í Allt í Kross saumagrúppunni þar sem ég geri aldrei neitt mikið úr afmælinu mínu og held t.d. ekki upp á það. Með því að skrá mig í þennan leik ætlaði ég að reyna að gera þennan dag (25. júlí, næsti þriðjudagur) meira spennandi og eftirminnilegan. Jæja, ég fékk fyrsta pakkann (hann er frá Rannveigu Lenu) í póstinum fyrir helgi en ég ætlaði að reyna að vera sterk en auðvitað brotnaði ég saman og opnaði gripinn

Ég er alveg rosalega sátt við þetta allt. Ótrúlegt en satt, þá er ég ekki búin með súkkulaðið! En ég er langt komin með það Svo fékk ég garn, maður á aldrei nóg af því, svo er þetta alveg rosalega fallegt efni frá Silkweaver og er Solo þannig að það heitir ekkert en mikið er það fallegt. Aida efnið er fallegt líka og munstrin eru flott. Mér finnst Paula Vaughn gera fallegar myndir, soldið nostalgíulegar en það er flott

Birthday gift

Last December I signed up for the birthday game in my online stitching club, Allt í Kross, because I usually don’t make a big deal out of my birthday, f.x. I don’t celebrate it. By signing up I was trying to make this day a little more special for me and to have something to look forward to. Well, I got the first package (from Rannveig Lena) right before the weekend and I was planning on staying strong and not open it till tuesday (that’s my birthday, the 25th of July)but of course I broke down and opened it

I’m totally cool with all of the things she gave me. Unbeliavebly I haven’t finished the chocolates but I’m halfway there As you can see I got floss, one can never have enough of that. She also gave me a beautiful Solo from Silkweaver and it’s gorgeous. The Aida is a lovely color too and I like the patterns. They’re Paula Vaughn patterns and I really like her designs. They’re filled with nostalgia but that’s just cool

My friends birthday is today, her name is Abba (not named after the band, it’s short for Arnbjörg), and I really want to give her a shout out on this blog

I’m going over to her house later and while I’m there (munching on cakes and stuff ) I’m giving her a gift I stitched for her. As soon as she’s received it I’ll add the pic to this post

Afmælisgjöf

Ég veit ekki hvort ég á að vera að sýna þetta hér, ég veit ekki betur en að vinkona mín viti af þessari síðu. Samt er það svo að þessi afmælisgjöf er ansi seint á ferðinni! Ég læt myndina bara fljóta…

Ég var búin að ákveða í lok desember að sauma þessa ákveðnu mynd handa vinkonu minni. Þetta er Janúar Nálarúlla frá Victoria Sampler og ég pantaði hana vitandi að hún myndi sennilega ekki ná hingað í tíma. Sem og gerðist, ég fékk þessa pakkningu í hendurnar stuttu eftir afmælið, í lok janúar. Ég byrjaði fljótlega á henni en það sem hefði getað verið auðvelt og skemmtilegt verkefni varð ansi langan tíma að fæðast. Ég held að það hafi verið bæði tímaleysi og svo þreyta. En það var alls ekki leiðinlegt að sauma í henni, bara ég vildi að ég hefði getað sest almennilega niður og unnið í henni, ekki að þurfa að gera þetta á hlaupum.

Alla vegana, ég kláraði stykkið í gærkvöldi rétt eftir miðnætti og þetta er því fyrsta klárið í mars! Það eina sem var gert í mars var samt afturstingurinn í afmælisdeginum Ég á enn eftir að ákveða hvort þetta verður að alvöru nálarúllu (vinkona mín er ekki saumakona) eða hvort ég ramma þetta inn.

Birthday present

I’m not quite sure I should post this pic here coz I’m not sure my friend reads this site or not. Still, this is a very belated birthday present so she really deserves to see it if she visits here!

I had decided at the end of december to stitch this design for my friend so I ordered it knowing it probably wouldn’t make it here before her birthday. It’s the January Needleroll from Victoria Sampler. And it didn’t but I started it shortly after I got it but what promised to be an easy and fun stitch dragged on for ages. Mostly because of lack of time to stitch and my tiredness. I did like stitching it, I just wish I could’ve sat down and stitched instead of doing it on the run almost.

Anyway, I finished it last night shortly after midnight which makes this my first HD in March! The only thing that was done in March though was the backstitching in the birthdate I haven’t decided if this is going to become a proper needleroll or if I’ll frame it for my friend. She’s not a stitcher, you see.
